Daily Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kigali
Upon arrival, meet your guide at the airport. Then, transfer to your hotel. Finally, relax over dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Akagera & Ihema Boat Cruise
After breakfast, drive to Akagera National Park. Next, check in and enjoy local cuisine for lunch. Then, cruise Lake Ihema. You’ll spot hippos, crocodiles and water birds.
Day 3: Early Game Drive & Transfer
First, embark on a dawn game drive. You may see lions, elephants and giraffes. After lunch, head to Volcanoes National Park. Finally, unwind at your lodge before dinner.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking
Early morning, attend a park briefing. Then, trek through Virunga Forest. You’ll spend up to one hour with a habituated gorilla family. After lunch, opt for a cultural visit to a Banyarwanda village.
Day 5: Golden Monkey & Karisoke Centre
After breakfast, choose golden monkey trekking or visit Dian Fossey’s Karisoke Research Centre. Then, savor regional dishes en route to Nyungwe Forest. Finally, check in and dine at your lodge.
Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walk
First, join a chimpanzee trek in Nyungwe. Expect 30 – 180 minutes tracking playful chimps. After lunch, walk the 50 m canopy bridge. Then, return for dinner and rest.
Day 7: Kigali Tour & Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Kigali. Next, enjoy a city tour and visit the Genocide Memorial. Finally, transfer to the airport or your hotel to conclude your safari.
