3 Days Nyungwe National Park Tour

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Nyungwe

Upon your morning arrival in Kigali, our expert guide will greet you at the airport (or hotel). Following a concise briefing, you’ll journey southwest to Nyungwe National Park. Along the way, spot troops of Rwenzori colobus, black-and-white colobus, red-tailed monkeys, baboons, owl-faced and Angola colobus, L’Hoest’s, Dent’s Mona, vervet, and silver monkeys. Finally, check in to your lodge for dinner and a restful overnight stay.



Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walk

Rise early for a hearty breakfast, then proceed to Uwinka reception. After a safety briefing, track habituated chimpanzee troops through misty rainforest trails. Observe their social interactions, feeding on leaves, fruits, termites, and caterpillars meanwhile, you’ll glimpse orange-and-white flycatchers, long-tailed glossy starlings, paradise flycatchers, great blue turacos, and forest hornbills.


After lunch and some downtime, return for Nyungwe’s famous canopy walk. Suspended high above the forest floor, you’ll enjoy panoramic views, photograph free-roaming primates, and admire fluttering butterflies. Conclude your day with dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.



Day 3: Return to Kigali & City Tour

Following breakfast, check out and head back to Kigali. There, delight in a guided city tour: explore bustling Kimironko Market and pay respects at the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Finally, we’ll transfer you to Kigali International Airport or your preferred city drop-off marking the end of your safari.
