Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali Exploration & Arrival at Akagera

Upon arrival, your English/French-speaking guide will whisk you away to Kigali’s poignant memorial sites. Afterwards, immerse yourself at Kimironko Market, sampling local produce. Following lunch, commence on a two-hour drive to Akagera National Park, check in at your chosen lodge, and witness a breathtaking sunset over the savannah.

Day 2: Game Drive & Lake Ihema Boat Safari

After lunch at your lodge, unwind before a late-afternoon boat trip on Lake Ihema. Don’t forget your binoculars hippos, crocodiles, and countless waterbirds await!


Day 3: Cultural Connection & Night Safari

Following breakfast, join a half-day cultural program led by local guides. Engage in traditional dances and hands-on cooking classes, discovering Rwandan heritage firsthand. Subsequently, after lunch, set out on an evening game drive on the park’s opposite side often the perfect chance to catch elusive nocturnal wildlife.


Day 4: Farewell to the Wild & Return to Kigali
