Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
First, we collect you from your hotel in Goma or Gisenyi. Then, after a scenic drive to Kibati Ranger Post, rangers will brief you on safety and volcano history. Next, you begin the ascent through forest corridors where you’ll likely see monkeys and birds. Afterward, you rest for lunch and continue upward in four guided segments under ranger accompaniment. Finally, reach the crater rim, relax, and watch the glowing lava you’ll spend the night at the summit.

Day 2
Early in the morning, finish breakfast and check out by 05:30. Then, descend together back to Kibati while rangers guide you. Afterwards, transfer to Goma (or cross into Rwanda at Gisenyi and continue to Kigali). Thus, your 2-day Mount Nyiragongo adventure concludes.
What to Expect
The hike is split into four sections, so you move safely with rangers for most of the trek.
Consequently, faster hikers can push ahead during the final stage, while others take a steadier pace.
Expect rich flora and wildlife in the lower zones, and jaw-dropping volcano views at the top.
Moreover, the summit night lets you witness the boiling lava an unforgettable sight.
