Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison via Ziwa
Firstly, your driver-guide meets you in Kampala. Then, drive ~5–6 hours with a rhino-tracking stop at Ziwa. Afterwards, lunch in Masindi before reaching Murchison Falls. Relax at the lodge overnight.


Day 2: Game drive + Boat cruise
Early morning game drive reveals buffalo, Uganda kobs, elephants, giraffes, Jackson’s hartebeest, warthogs, bushbucks and more. After lunch, enjoy a 2–3 hour boat cruise to the base of the falls – see hippos, Nile crocodiles and abundant waterbirds.


Day 3: Transfer to Kibale
After breakfast, depart for Kibale – the primate capital. En route, admire views of Lake George, crater lakes, tea plantations and the Rwenzori foothills. Check in at your lodge and rest.


Day 4: Chimp trekking + Bigodi Swamp
Firstly, trek habituated chimpanzees after a briefing at Kanyachu Visitor Centre. Then, spend an hour observing them. Afterwards, walk Bigodi Swamp to spot turacos, shoebill (if lucky), sitatungas, duikers and many primates.


Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi (via Ishasha)
Early departure with an Ishasha region game drive to find tree-climbing lions. Then, visit Kitagata hot springs for lunch and continue to Bwindi. Check in at your lodge late afternoon.


Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
After an early briefing, trek with experienced guides to locate your assigned gorilla family. Trekking can take 30 minutes to several hours. Once found, enjoy one hour among mountain gorillas – observe, photograph and learn. Optionally, visit Batwa communities afterwards.


Day 7: Return to Kampala
Leisurely breakfast and checkout. Stop at Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch, then visit the Equator at Kayabwe. Finally, arrive in Kampala or be dropped at Entebbe International Airport.

Expect rich encounters: elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs, Jackson’s hartebeest, hippos, Nile crocodiles, hornbills, shoebill storks, kingfishers, fish eagles, forest elephants, red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus, blue monkeys, grey-chested baboons, L’Hoest’s monkeys, duikers, sitatungas and spectacular forest flora.
