Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Kibale
First, our representative meets you at Entebbe International Airport and briefs you about the trip. Then, you’ll drive west through Kampala toward Mubende; you’ll stop for lunch in Fort Portal. Meanwhile, enjoy views of terraced farms, tea and banana plantations, crater lakes and the Rwenzori Mountains. Finally, arrive at your lodge in Kibale for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Swamp Walk
After an early breakfast, transfer to park headquarters for a mandatory briefing and rules. Next, a park guide pairs with you and leads the trek; depending on the chimps’ location, the hike lasts about 30 minutes to 4 hours. Once located, you may spend one hour observing the chimpanzees feeding, playing and socializing and take photos (no flash). After lunch at the lodge, you’ll walk Bigodi Swamp, where, moreover, you can spot colobus, L’Hoest monkeys, bushbuck, sitatunga and many bird species. Then return for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Return to Kampala & Departure
After a leisurely breakfast, check out and head back toward Kampala. en route, stop for a tasty, locally spiced lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre. Finally, arrive in Kampala in the early evening and receive drop-off at Entebbe International Airport or your preferred location.
