Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Bwindi
Firstly, your guide collects you and escorts you to Entebbe International Airport for a domestic flight to Kihihi (departures: 07:00, 10:15, 12:00) or Kisoro (departures: ~07:00, 08:25). Then, upon arrival your driver transfers you to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Afterwards, you may join an optional Batwa cultural tour to learn traditional forest life, visit homesteads, taste local dishes, and enjoy music and dance. Finally, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience
On day two, you will have an early breakfast and collect a packed lunch. Next, attend the park briefing before trekking in the Rushaga sector alongside researchers, rangers, guides, and gorilla physicians. While trekking, you may spot forest elephants, buffaloes, duikers, chimpanzees, L’Hoest’s monkeys, black-and-white colobus, golden monkeys, and a variety of birds and plants. Once located, you’ll spend four hours with the gorilla family observing feeding, play, grooming, and family bonds – and, moreover, you’ll receive a participation certificate afterwards. Then, return to the lodge for rest, dinner, and overnight.
Day 3: Return Flight
Finally, after an early breakfast you check out and transfer to Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip for your domestic flight back to Entebbe or Kampala. Consequently, you either connect with your international flight or transfer to your hotel depending on your plans.
