Highlights

 Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Ruhengeri.

The first day of the 4-day Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Tour begins with a warm welcome from the guide, followed by a transfer to Kigali city for a brief city tour. Highlights include a visit to the genocide memorial site, coupled with lunch. Later in the day, the journey continues to Ruhengeri town, where you’ll spend the night and enjoy dinner.

 

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Parc National Des Volcans.

On the second day of the four-day gorilla and chimpanzee trekking adventure, the day begins with an early breakfast followed by a briefing by park officials. The highlight of the day is the gorilla trekking expedition, an unforgettable experience. Led by rangers, you’ll venture deep into the forest to locate the gorillas. Upon encountering them, you’ll have an hour to observe and capture photographs. After trekking back to the starting point and obtaining permits, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, there’s an optional village tour for a cultural immersion led by a local guide. The day concludes with dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

 

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe.

On the third day of the 4 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Tour, participants wake up early for breakfast. Afterward, they check out and are driven to Nyungwe Forest National Park. En route, they stop for lunch and enjoy sightseeing, bird watching, and photo opportunities. Upon arrival at Nyungwe Forest National Park, they check into their lodge for dinner, relaxation, and an overnight stay.

 

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Departure.

The last day of the four-day gorilla and chimpanzee trekking tour involves having breakfast and then transferring to the park headquarters for a briefing. Following this, participants head into the jungle for chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe forest. Chimpanzees, known for their energetic and playful nature, are easily spotted as they move between trees, often laughing and communicating. The trek usually lasts about three hours.

After the trek, lunch is provided before returning to Kigali. If a city tour was missed on the arrival day, a quick city tour will be arranged before transferring to the airport for the next flight.
